San Rafael Home Values are Way Up!
I'm delighted to report to fellow San Rafael homeowners that we've experienced a significant increase in the value of our homes.
The good news is that 2016 appears to be off to a great start for real estate and all signs point to a strong seller's market.
- San Rafael home prices are up significantly. The average sale price of single family homes in San Rafael's 94903 zip code has increased more than $200,000 in just the last 5 years. Condo / townhome prices have increased more than $100,000 over that same time period.
- There are many highly qualified buyers (including cash buyers) in the market. Consumer confidence is up and we are seeing many highly qualified buyers who are ready to buy now. While many Wall Street analysts are predicting that mortgage interest rates will move higher in 2016, interest rates are still trending near historic low and many buyers are anxious to take advantage of today's rates which provide them with greater purchasing power.
- Inventory is extremely low. While there are many highly qualified buyers in the market, there is very little inventory for those buyers to choose from. This is good news for prospective sellers since, in many instances, more buyers will be competing for their home.
