Just north of San Rafael proper, stretched out along Lucas Valley Road, is the peaceful and much sought after neighborhood of Lucas Valley. Lucas Valley is in the Dixie School District. Children in grades K-5 attend the award winning Dixie Elementary School, while older students go to Miller Creek Middle School, which has twice been recognized as a California Distinguished School.
