The Appetite Seminar - A 35th Annual Thanksgiving Day Bike Ride OR a walk to Tennessee Beach

Looking for something physical to do before you sit down to enjoy all of that Thanksgiving bounty? I saw recently in the local paper that there’s an organised mountain bike ride from Fairfax on Thanksgiving morning. They call it “The Appetite Seminar.” (Click to follow link.)  It sounds like a great idea, to do the exercise before all that overeating and drinking. However, despite the good intentions, my bike and I will probably not be there.  If, like me, you’d like to start with something simpler or less intimidating, then consider a Thanksgiving Day Family Hike. Did you know that you can walk to the Pacific Ocean from Mill Valley in only 1.7 miles?   Just follow the trail through Tennessee Valley to the Tennessee Beach. It’s an easy drive to the trail head at the end of the Tennessee Valley Rd.; then just park and follow the signs.  This is great exercise and fun for the entire family.  Fresh air, no entrance fee, wonderful views, lots of free parking and a choice of various trails, so what’s the excuse not to go now? It’s a great way to have some family time and work up an appetite for your celebratory dinner!
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday filled with warmth & love!
