Is October 8th Really The Best Day to Buy a Home?

A recent study by Realty Trac found that there is one magical day in the year that is statistically The Best day to purchase a home. That day is October 8th! Don't panic or start making offers on just any home.  There is more data.

Their study also revealed that on average buyers got the best deal on homes in October, over the last 15 years, followed by November in some markets.  The study further showed the next best months are February, July, December and January respectively. This study supports what I and many other Realtors repeat year after year to our clients. Fall and winter are great times to buy. Many of my clients have felt that if they don't find a house in the spring they have to

41 Stasia Drive, Novato CA 94947 has a New Owner!

I adore first time homebuyers! They are eager and receptive and ready to learn. First time homebuyers in the current market and environment are more informed and educated which makes them excellent clients.

It's so fulfilling helping clients buy their first home! The single biggest purchase one will ever make in their lives - what an honor. I take this responsibility very seriously, listening to what my client's wants and needs are and guiding them towards making good decisions and finding the perfect home for them.

41 Stasia Drive in Novato happened to be that house for my clients. A lovely young couple with a sweet new baby. Their goals were to find a 3-bedroom 2-bath house

26 Roundtree Blvd. San Rafael, CA 94903: SOLD!

I had a blast helping my first time buyer clients close on 26 Roundtree Blvd., a townhouse style condo located in Marinwood. This particular unit sits at the back of the complex near Oak trees, blackberries and seasonal creek-quiet and near nature! This 2 bedroom 1 bath home has undergone thoughtful upgrades over the years but still has room for personalized improvements by the new owners.

Being located in the Dixie School District, close to the freeway entrance and walking distance from Marinwood Market, makes this one a winner.

I love helping first time home buyers fulfill one of their dreams-homeownership! I also love to help seller's pre-pare their home for sale. If you need help buying or

15 Jewell St. San Rafael CA 94901: SOLD!!!

I am super excited for my first time home buyers that now own 15 Jewell St. in San Rafael. This adorable home is tucked nicely on a street with more expensive homes and a quick walk to down town San Rafael. It has two bed rooms, a bath, beautiful hardwood floors and a huge basement! My clients knew the minute they walked in that this was the house for them. Priced at $599,000, we were once again in a multiple offer situation. The listing agent preformed all the inspections prior to going on the market and had a hefty disclosure package. Because of that my buyers felt confident about putting in an offer without more inspections, and as a result their offer (not the highest bid) was accepted. We closed at

I am thrilled to announce the sale of 463 Blackstone Dr. San Rafael, CA 94903 to wonderful clients coming from San Francisco! These first time home buyers got lucky and went from back up position to primary, to close!

This 3 bed 2.5 bath home has it all: remodeled kitchen, hardwood floors, and open dining room to step down living room plus a family room.  The large back yard to open space is awesome. Located in Dixie School district, this Marinwood home is a winner.

Another happy buyer client closes escrow!  After losing out on two other multiple offer situations my buyer clients were finally able to secure and close on 167 Oak Manor Dr. in Fairfax (they were one of 4 offers). I met this couple two years ago when they attended my First Time Home Buyers Workshop. They took the time to understand the home buying process, save money for their down payment and get pre-approved. With inventory being so low and buyer demand being high, my clients were quick to learn that making their best offer from the get-go was the only way to an offer accepted.

It is a very cute home with high open beamed ceilings, large glass windows and just a quick stroll from downtown Fairfax. This three bedroom two bath two car garage

First Time Home Buyer Questions: Part 1

Anyone who maintains a blog or has ever written an article for a blog eventually faces the question - What should I write about?

The best piece of advice I received from the countless webinars I attended on blogging was - Write about the subjects you talk about, email about and discuss every day with your clients and friends. As Realtors, we entertain questions about the market, the process, the community and even our jobs every day. It's awesome and one of my favorite parts of being a Realtor - sharing information.

If you have questions, especially the ones you aren't asking because you think they are stupid - you are not alone (and your questions are not stupid). The Real Estate/lending world has
