As the year winds to a close, I wanted to provide everyone with a quick synopsis of how the real estate market in Marin County California held up for buyers and sellers of Eichler homes in 2008.
I specifically wanted to break out Eichler home sales history information since many of my clients (both buyers and sellers) have a profound interest in these mid-century modern properties in Marin County. While Eichler homes can be found in several Marin towns including Mill Valley, San Anselmo, and San Rafael, all Eichler transactions for 2008 ocurred in the town of San Rafael.

December is historically a slow month for real estate in the Bay Area as sellers and buyers shift their focus to the holidays. While this December is no exception, I can think of 89 reasons why anyone looking for a modern home in the Bay Area might want to actually look at homes now vs. waiting until after the first of the year when more buyers resume their home search.

Just wanted to remind everyone that the San Francisco Modernism & Art Deco Show (which is hosted by one of Marin Modern Real Estate clients) will be held this weekend in San Francisco.
This unique event features the best of mid-century modern, streamline moderne, art deco, vintage western, and mission designs and collectibles from around the country. Over 200 dealers exhibit at this event and provide attendees with an opportunity to preview and purchase furniture, artwork, jewelry, vintage clothing and more. Additionally, attendees have an opportunity to take a walking architectural tour of San Francisco.

With the holiday season upon us, we have many clients and friends (especially those that recently relocated to Marin County) that are interested in finding out where the major shopping malls are located in Marin County, California.
Truth be told, some of the best shopping in Marin can be found at boutique retail stores located in downtown Mill Valley, Larkspur, Fairfax, San Anselmo, and San Rafael, however there are a handful of large shopping centers in Marin which are worth a visit:

We wanted to thank everyone who attended and participated in our event last night entitled "Building an Eco-Friendly and Modern Home in Marin County" which featured keynote speakers from some of the most respected and authoritative names in the green building, design, real estate, and finance industry.
