With a new year upon us, I wanted to provide fellow Eichler fans with a quick look back at the real estate market for our homes in Marin.
In 2011, a total of 50 Eichler Homes were sold in Marin County and I was proud to once again finish the year as the #1 Agent in Marin County for Eichler Home Sales. As a listing agent, my Eichler listings sold on average for 99% of their asking price in just 57 days. Eichler Homes that were not listed by me on average sold for only 93% of their asking price and took considerably longer (97 days) to sell.
Looking closer at 2011 Eichler sales in Marin, all sales occurred in San Rafael (with the exception of one custom-built Eichler home in Kentfield which sold for $1,600,000 and is excluded from the overall stats) and there were no Eichler sales in either Mill Valley or San Anselmo. The most expensive Eichler sold for $1,165,000 and was located in Upper Lucas Valley; the least expensive Eichler sold was a bank owned property in the Lower Lucas Valley / Marinwood neighborhood which sold for $420,199.
In terms of performance, I proudly finished 2011 as the top agent for sold Eichler Homes as well as the #1 Agent for Sold Eichlers in Marin for the 5th year in a row. I also once again finished in the top 1% of all agents in Marin County for both sales and transaction volume.

San Rafael Eichler Sale Prices (2011 vs 2010)
In 2011 there was extensive media coverage regarding the softening real estate market and general decline in home values. The reality is that most Eichlers were isolated from these declines as indicated in the chart below which shows that average sale prices increased in the majority of Eichler neighborhoods between 2010 and 2011.
Beyond Eichler sales, additional 2011 achievements for my company included doubling of our sales agents in Marin, becoming the first green-certified real estate brokerage in San Rafael, serving as the exclusive real estate sponsors for the Dwell-Marin Magazine Modern Home Tour in Marin and expanding into the East Bay with the launch of East Bay Modern Real Estate.
I am grateful for your support in 2011 and wish you a successful and joyous New Year.
