A good thing just keeps getting better -- in San Rafael at least. The Marin Civic Center is about to undergo renovation and first on the agenda is a revamped Farmers Market. Currently located in a parking lot, this popular event will find a permanent home in a new structure designed to accommodate vendors both indoors and out, offering protection from the elements, but retaining the current fun, carnival-like atmosphere. The vision includes expanding the Farmers Market to three days a week, creating space for a small restaurant, and including a wider variety of vendors.
The Farmers Market isn’t the only thing in San Rafael that is getting an overhaul. The Mall at Northgate is scheduled for what planners characterize as a major “reinvention” and
