By: Kristin Lee Monday, April 2nd, 2012 at 6:03am. 140 Views, 0 Comments.

Gerstle Park - neighborhood of San Rafael California, a historic area and was known as Short’s Tract, and then Southside. It was first acquired and developed in the Late 1800’s. This unique neighborhood is conveniently located south of First Street and is just a short walk to central downtown of San Rafael.

A lot of original houses in Gerstle Park were once built as summer residences for some families in San Francisco like Lewis Gerstle and Louis Sloss. In 1900’s, immigrants from Italy who worked on local railroads, began building smaller homes. The jewel-like park successfully deeded by the Gerstle family in 1950.

Gerstle Park Neighborhood Association (GPNA) was established and founded in order to preserve the…

Marin County offers several Montessori school options. Whether you are relocating to Marin with young children or have lived here a long time, but are in the process of researching Montessori options in Marin, thought I’d write a little bit about a few of the schools I have researched and know families whose children attend these schools.

Several Marin Montessori schools follow and are inspired by the principles of Association Montessori International. If you are a new resident in the area and decide to look and enroll your children in schools connected to the international Montessori school, consider Abbey Montessori, Montessori de Terra Linda and Marin Montessori.

Yet another San Francisco commuter has a new home in Marin County. I was pleased to represent my buyer in closing escrow this week on a two-story San Rafael condo.

This San Rafael condo has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a wood-burning fireplace and in-unit laundry. With over 1,100 sq ft, there will be plenty of room for my buyer. The views from the balconies, especially the upstairs balcony are spectacular. Views of San Rafael hillsides and Mt. Tam alongside the night lights of Terra Linda. The complex has a swimming pool and is well maintained.

This property was originally listed at $199,000 and closed at $220,000 after I successfully negotiated on behalf of my client through a multiple offer situation.

If you are interested in real estate in…
