A Banner Year For Marin County Public Schools - 2010 API Rankings Released

The 2010 API standardized school scores were just released yesterday and it indicates another banner year of outstanding performance for all of Marin’s public schools.  The benefit of these exceedingly strong scores isn’t felt just by families with children already in school or preparing to enter. Marin County homeowners understand this is one significant draw for families looking to buy a home in the bay area.  The Marin real estate market offers an abundance of amenities that few other areas offer: world class outdoor activities, an abundance of natural beauty all around us, great weather and the cream of the crop of public schools.  Is it any wonder our property values continue to hold their own when other parts of the state are still feeling real pain as a consequence of the market meltdown of 2008?

Here’s the skinny on the Marin schools rankings and it’s all very impressive: two dozen schools scored perfect 10s.  These rankings range from 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest.  Looking at the scores in further detail, even underperforming schools of years past dramatically improved their scores county-wide.  When one considers the serious financial cuts to public schools throughout the state and millions of dollars of funding eliminated due to the ongoing state fiscal crisis, it is even more astounding that our schools have thrived and rank among the very top performers statewide!

When considering where to buy a home in Marin County, if one were to use the 2010 API index as a place to start identifying communities, the map of communities with high ranking schools covers virtually the entire county!

Wow-way to go kids of Marin County! That is impressive. I know that school boards across the Boise area have been working to improve the public school system here in the valley. This is definitely an area to look up to in the way of improving education. This is also a definite plus to any prospective home buyers. Aside from commute, weather, and local attractions schools is a number one priority when finding a home in any area. Great info to your potential clients! Good work!
