Another reason I like Marinwood-cheap gas at the new 76 station on Marinwood Ave. @ Miller Creek Rd.  The gas station is conveniently located right off the 101 Highway (Marinwood/St. Vincent exit) in the 94903 area of San Rafael; regular is $3.35 per gallon.  There is also a great smog check and certification at the station (I go there every time I need to renew smog). It is easy, cheap, local...a winner!

Hey and if that's not enough to entice you, across the street from the 76 gas station is the new Marinwood Market.  This is a fabulous new market with excellent produce, meat and fish counter, deli and sushi bar...plus they sell the most amazing chocolate chip cookies-yum! The staff is helpful and friendly and eager to stalk just what you need.

When deciding to move to Marin County from New York City a few years ago, my husband and I knew we wanted to live in a place that was beautiful and temperate all year round. Frankly, we were tired of the cold winters and knowing our family would be growing we wanted to be somewhere very kid friendly. A few years later, we are settled into San Rafael and couldn't imagine our lives anywhere else. The ease of life whether it's going to the park in the middle of winter, being close to shopping or going out to a great dinner; it's all within our reach.

I joined a Mothers Club in Marin when my daughter was born and was fortunate to meet many families who live in Marin for similar reasons. As a Realtor, I felt it was important to blog why residents of

I had the pleasure of assisting my wonderful buyer client secure new digs in Tiburon.  The home sits high on the hill with a breathtaking panoramic view of the San Francisco Bay; from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge and clear to Mt. Tamalpais. The home is a real gem, quality craftsmanship though out; gleaming hardwood floors, high end finishes indoor outdoor flow and yes again, drop dead gorgeous views in every direction. We took our time and looked throughout Marin County until the perfect home spoke to them. As often seen with past clients, the home you fall in love with may be quite different from what was on your initial wish list.  Keeping an open mind when home buying truly pays off.  I believe in taking the time needed to discover what

You live in a cacophony of sounds, from city streets to your own old house.  Over time, you live your life and get used to it, letting the chaos blend into the background of your life as you tune out that which takes over your senses of distraction, and instead keep the melodious qualities that bring music to your ears.

It might be difficult to comprehend--having put up with this for so long, but it is possible to find a new home that brings your dreams to life, so that you are left with peace and nothing short of a smile.

House hunting can range from scary, as you feel the need to fit in a major change in your life, to exhilarating when you hear the new sounds, feel new textures and try on your new dream in your head, one house at a

The second Monday of each month Marin County realtors meet at the Aqua Hotel in Mill Valley to pitch new and upcoming listings and to share market stats and trends.  It's a chance to get a "feet on the ground" perspective of what agents are seeing and hearing at all price points and in all geographic areas.

Below are a few statistics, trends and observations that were noted at the meeting:

  • October 2011 had the highest number of sales since May 2007 (a year before the market went over the cliff)
  • Very Low inventory - currently a little over 3 months of inventory (inventory has been down over 30% in 2011 compared to 2010)
  • Multiple offers are increasingly common according to many of the realtors. (In the past month I received multiple offers on a

I am pleased to have helped another buyer client secure a beautiful home in Marin County.  Set in a convenient San Rafael neighborhood, this 3 story home has hardwood floors, nicely appointed kitchen and baths, 2 fireplaces, 2 decks, 2 car garage and an amazing panoramic view from the Civic Center to the bay. I worked with these wonderful and very patient buyers for one year, as they sold their home in Australia, received visas to come here and stayed flexible during some of the ups and downs of buying a REO home.  Thankfully, they used an excellent local mortgage broker/banker who was able to secure funding and close without a hitch.  Using a mortgage broker who has access to many lenders can make or break a deal. I really enjoy being a helpful
