An age old festival, particularly celebrated in Mexico, Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrates and honors loved ones that have died. Traditionally taking place on November 1 (All Saints Day) and November 2 (All Soul's Day), the celebrations are lively and festive. The rituals consist of friends and family gathering to build private alters where they prey, adorn with sugar skulls, marigolds, mementos, food and beverages. Then continue to the graves honoring those that have passed before them. 

Marin offers two great places to participate in this celebration of life.

San Francisco Neighborhoods - Cow Hollow + Marina District Part 3: The Blue Angels

Fleet week, which starts on Wednesday and culminates with the exit of the Navy ships on the following Tuesday, reminded me of just another benefit to living in The Cow Hollow & Marina districts or in San Francisco Real Estate terms, District 7.

Fleet week brings back memories from my high school days bussing tables at a popular tourist restaurant on Fisherman's Wharf. That experience soured Fleet week for me because it meant the streets and restaurants on the wharf were literally filled with drunken sailors. A little much for a shy high school girl.

I'm pleased to announce another closed sale - I represented the buyer on the purchase of a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath townhome in the Green Oaks community in Terra Linda.  It was a very good value for the buyer at $322,000 for an end unit with lots of light and over 1500 square feet.  The monthly homeowners association dues at Green Oaks is one of the lowest in Marin at $271 per month.
