Monday, April 19th, 2010 at 10:37pm. 1313 Views, 0 Comments.
Is 100% financing still available and, if so, is it possible to get favorable loan terms with no money down? For veterans of the U.S. military, the National Guard or U.S. Reserve the answer is a definitive “yes” and the rates and terms do not get any better! Qualified veterans seeking financing in high cost Bay Area counties like Alameda, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin may be eligible for the lowest rates available on 30-year fixed mortgages up to $1,094,625. 100% financing is available for other Bay Area counties to lower maximum limits.
VA loans are mortgages guaranteed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and offered to the public through program-approved lenders. It is important to keep this in mind when shopping for a VA loan as some…

I wanted to give our clients and friends a quick update on the Eichler real estate market in both Marin & San Francisco, California.
Spring has definitely brought out the buyers (especially in the < $800k mark) and I'm proud to say that ALL six of my recent Eichler listings have either sold or gone into contract - many with multiple offers - within just days or weeks of hitting the market. Additionally, I've already assisted a number of buyers with their Eichler purchase this year.
Looking at existing inventory on the Marin MLS & San Francisco MLS, there are currently:
- Twelve (12) Eichler homes for sale in Marin County, all located in San Rafael. There are properties available in each San Rafael Eichler neighborhood including Upper…
Highway 101 Project Through Terra Linda is a Hit with Home Buyers

I've been marveling at the speed with which I've been able to drive during morning commuter hours, on southbound Hwy 101 through the Terra Linda Narrows to the I 580 interchange. As a former Lucas Valley (northern San Rafael) resident, I braved the morning commute into the city for years and spent most of my time in traffic congestion from Lucas Valley Rd. to Central San Rafael. Especially challenging mornings translated to anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes to clock 5 miles south to Central San Rafael. The historic traffic slowdown on this part of the freeway in Marin County contributed to my decision to move out of that part of Central Marin County in 2006.
Fast-forward to early 2009 when Cal Trans nears completion of their 124 million dollar project…

How Marin Real Estate Prices Vary By Zip Code | Market Update
Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 at 3:35pm. 1438 Views, 0 Comments.
I want to update you on what's going on with real estate prices recently. Home prices have rebounded in some areas, but not others. Part of this has to do with differneces in demand for different neighborhoods within each city. You see, real estate is extremely local when it comes to home values. That's why looking at prices by state, metropolitan area, county, or even city can erroneously skew data. In addition, median home prices can be misleading because of the mix of high-end homes and low-end homes that change hands, even in a specific neighborhood.
In other words, home prices are literally all over the map, as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle. However, it is worth noting that there are some trends that have developed when looking at…
